The Sivadol is a beautiful and historic temple located on the north bank of the Gaurisagar tank. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and was built by Phuleswari Devi, the chief queen of Ahom King Siva Singha, who ruled from 1714 to 1744 CE.
The temple is constructed using bricks and has two main parts: the garbhagriha and the mukhamandapa. The most striking feature of the temple is its domed tower, known as the sikhara. This tower has many vertical ridges and is decorated with smaller towers called angasikharas. Both the main tower and the smaller towers are topped with a series of circular, ribbed stones called amalakas.
The walls of the temple are adorned with niches that hold statues of various Hindu gods and goddesses, as well as intricate floral designs. The entire temple is enclosed by an ancient wall, adding to its historical charm.
