Ranganath Dol, also known as the Ranganath temple, is a beautiful and small temple made of brick masonry. Located in Joysagar, it was built by the Ahom king Rudra Singha, who ruled from 1696 to 1714 CE. The temple is known for its Sikhara, which is the tall tower that stands over the garbhagriha. Inside this sacred chamber, there is a Siva Linga, a symbol of Lord Shiva. At the front of the garbhagriha, there is a do-chala mandapa. This is an outdoor hall with a unique roof style, which adds to the temple's charm and architectural beauty.
Ranganath Dol is not only a place of worship but also a fine example of the architectural skill of the Ahom dynasty. It attracts visitors who are interested in history, architecture, and spirituality.
