The Gaurisagar Tank is one of the most significant tanks in Sivasagar. It was excavated by Queen Phuleswari Devi, the wife of King Siva Singha, who ruled from 1714 to 1744. This tank stands out among the numerous tanks built by the Ahom kings in the region.
The Gaurisagar Tank is impressive in size, measuring 620 meters by 750 meters. Its vast expanse of water has been a crucial part of the local landscape for centuries. On the northern bank of the tank, three beautiful temples were built, adding to the tank's cultural and religious significance. These temples are Devidol, Sivadol, and Vishnudol.
