Devi Dol, Joysagar

Devighar or Devaloya

Devighar, also known as Devidol, is a special temple devoted to Devi Durga, located at the northwestern corner of the Joysagar tank. It was built for worshipping Devi Durga with great reverence. Constructed in the year 1699 CE by King Rudra Singha, this temple stands proudly on the north and west banks of the Joysagar tank.

The architecture of Devighar is quite simple yet elegant. It is a brick-built double-roofed hut resting on a rectangular plinth. To enter the temple, one must pass through a mukhamandapa, which serves as an entrance hall. Along the walls of the main temple, there are niches containing various representations of the goddess.
